At Editors Keys we’ve been working hard with many of our customers on a brand new range of dedicated shortcut keyboards and they’re available today for purchase!
We surveyed hundreds of editors from around the globe (from beginners to industry professionals) and built a checklist of what you’d like from an editing keyboard. The same features kept coming up; an ultra thin design, beautiful pantone color codings, USB connection and Mac and PC compatible for moving around.
The ultra thin design was paramount. Editing keyboards have always been early 90’s style chunky PC keyboards with little to no visual appeal, so as you can see, we developed a beautiful ultra thin keyboard with a spacious ‘chiclet style’ keyboard, so typing is perfect. Everything from the button press to the angle at which the keyboard sits has been pain-stakingly thought about and chiseled. You won’t find a more beautiful, comfortable and well-rounded editing keyboard!
We’ve kept our same icon design and layout to making typing super easy, so if you’ve used an Editors Keys keyboard before you’ll know just how much time they can save you. We also kept the shortcut text at the bottom of each key. We found this is the optimal place for text layout and makes using a shortcut keyboard much easier.
Editing keyboards make the editing process super quick. Imagine having all of the tools to hand without going through menus and tool bars. The colors help color group similar tools, so for example if you’re looking for the play functions within Final Cut, they’re all in blue… simple. This process helps save you loads of time, which means you can save a lot of money on production time or get home a little earlier for a spot of chill out time. (and who doesn’t want that!)
Our first production run has been created for Final Cut, Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic and Photoshop with Ableton Live, Serato, Avid and Premiere coming shortly!
